Local for Healthcare · pilot programme 2026
The waiting room, without the waiting.
Patients check in from a QR at the door, see what their insurer has approved, pay their share and watch their place in the queue. All from their phone. No app, no account, no counter.
We reply within one working day.
- Check-in to pharmacy on one phone
- ID verified by OTP, never stored
- Co-pay collected before the consultation
on the check-in stand
Four counters. Zero queues.
A hospital visit is four queues in a row: reception, insurance desk, cashier, pharmacy. Each one becomes a step on the patient's phone, and the desk gets its morning back.
Four places a patient stands in line. Four places staff answer "how long?"
One phone. The patient sits down once.
The visit, as the patient sees it.
Six screens from the Local hospital app. It plays on its own, or press a step.
on the check-in stand
Check in at the door.
The QR on the check-in stand opens the clinic in the phone's browser. ID is verified by OTP against today's appointment, then discarded. No app, no account, nothing to fill in.
- Works in Safari and Chrome
- National ID or Iqama
- No form at reception
Built for the hospital's day, not just the patient's.
Every step the patient takes on their phone is a step your staff don't take at a desk.
Reception
Arrivals are verified and logged before anyone reaches the desk. The queue at reception becomes a queue in the system, with a number the patient can see.
Insurance desk
Pre-auth status is pushed to the patient as the insurer answers: approved, pending, partially covered. Approved services move on without a second visit to the window.
Cashier
The patient's share is collected on the phone before the consultation, through licensed payment partners. Receipts are digital and itemised to the visit ID.
Department board
Called by number, by room, with an alert three minutes before. Waiting areas thin out because patients don't have to sit within sight of the door.
Pharmacy & follow-up
Next steps appear the moment the consultation ends: collect, test, settle. The follow-up is booked before the patient leaves the building.
Data stays yours
Local verifies and routes. Clinical records stay in your HIS, ID is used only to match today's appointment, and no card numbers touch Local.
Six weeks. One department. Measured together.
We're choosing pilot partners now. The pilot runs in one outpatient department with Local on site, and every number on the scorecard is measured with you, against your own baseline.
- 1Week 1 · Baseline
We time the current flow in the department: door to seat, reception queue, cashier queue, follow-ups booked.
- 2Week 2 · Connect
HIS and insurance pre-auth connected with your IT team. Check-in stands printed. Reception briefed.
- 3Weeks 3 to 6 · Live
Patients check in on their phones. Local is in the department for the first week of service and on call after.
- 4Week 6 · Scorecard
Baseline against pilot, department by department. You decide whether to extend.
Each line measured in week 1, then every week of the pilot. No figure on this card is quoted until it's yours.
Before you ask.
Is this live today?
The product you see on this page is built and running with sample data.

We're choosing pilot partners for a first department now, and the pilot is where it goes live with real patients.
Does it replace our HIS or queue system?
No. Your HIS stays the system of record. Local sits in front of it for the patient: check-in, coverage status, payment and queue position, with the integration set up together in week 2 of the pilot.
What patient data does Local hold?
As little as possible. ID is used to match today's appointment and verified by OTP, then discarded.

Clinical records never leave your systems. Card details are tokenised by licensed payment partners.
What about walk-ins and patients without a phone?
Reception keeps working as it does today. Walk-ins can be checked in by the desk and still get a queue number and alerts.

Nobody is turned away for not having a phone.
How is the patient's share calculated?
From the insurer's pre-auth response and your tariff: subtotal, insurer coverage, patient share.

The patient sees the breakdown before paying, and the receipt is itemised to the visit.
