The bill, on their phone, when they're ready.
Guests open the live bill from the card on the table, split it, tip the team and pay in seconds. Your floor stays on the floor.
We reply within one working day.
Three ways to split. Zero awkwardness.
Equal, by item or custom. Each guest pays their own share from their own phone, and the bill always shows what's left.
Tap the initials to see it change.
In By item, each guest ticks what they had. Shared plates split between whoever ticked them. In Custom, one guest names an amount and the rest stays open for the others.
A part-paid bill stays open. The guest sees the remaining balance, and so does your floor team, so nobody walks out thinking it was settled.
- Each share is its own payment and its own receipt
- Tips are added per share, so everyone can thank the team
- The bill closes in your POS only when the balance is zero
of every tip reaches your team.
Local takes no fee on tips. Suggested amounts are shown as a percentage of the guest's share, and guests can type their own. Venues see tips per bill climb by around 400% after switching.
Pay with what's already on the phone.
Apple Pay, Google Pay or a card. No app, no typing card numbers at the table, no terminal passed hand to hand. 91% of volume on Local is paid with Apple Pay.
Your order is being prepared
And on your side of the pass.
The guest's tap becomes a status your team can act on.
Status per table
Open, paying, part-paid, paid. The floor sees it live without asking the guest.
Bill closes in the POS
With your POS the bill is marked paid automatically. Other POS systems connect through the printer relay.
Shift close that adds up
Payments, tips and refunds itemised by bill, by shift and by venue.
Good questions.
What if the bill changes while a guest is looking at it?
The bill the guest sees is the live bill from your POS. If an item is added or removed, the phone updates before they pay.

Can guests still pay the old way?
Yes. Local runs alongside your card machine and cash. A table can even mix: two guests pay on their phones, one pays the server.
Does payment confirmation mean the money is in our account?
Confirmation closes the bill. Settlement to your bank follows the schedule in your agreement for your market, and every settlement is itemised against its bills.
